Oh, it's so hilarious! I think that last part was even funnier than anything you've written before. Love you mucho. The red underline exists under 'mucho' but oh well. I do love you mucho...

Hehe, glad you liked this one. I remember it like it was yesterday. Silly red lines--of course mucho is a word! Love you mucho back!

I remember how big and heavy they would be. Fun and great poem. I imagine it must have been a tough fit in the Volkswagon Bug.
A very fun and well-done read.
Best wishes and regards,
Mary

Thanks so much, Mary! It is quite amazing how much smaller microwaves and computers have become in our lifetimes. I appreciate your read!

Lol! Enjoyed your cute story about the "surprise" microwave. You had one way back in the 1970s? It must have been a really new item for your kitchen and a blessing to your mom!

Hehe, yes, Helen, it was quite the novelty, and almost as large as our regular oven! My, how times change. Thank you for reading! Sending good wishes your way.

You are speeding your way through the alphabet in your highlights of home poems, and I'm enjoying every minute spent reading them. And that pleasant Mama Baer smile. Yes, those old microwaves were huge. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

I can imagine the excitement.. what did Robbie Burns write about the best laid plans of mice and men going awry? LOL

Your feel good poem brought back happy memories of surprise parties and special gifts.

Thanks for sharing

Stay safe and blessed

Julia

Thankfully, it did not fall out of the car. And I know she was happy. And it seems when you want to hide something, plans change. Thank you for the great poem. Have a great day. And stay safe.

Your poem brought back memories of our family's first microwave too. It sure was huge - like an old fashioned TV set. We went and had cooking lessons how to use it - it was very exciting and we felt ultra modern.
I bet your mum got a surprise whatever day she actually saw the microwave.

I always love to hear from you, LisaMay! You are right. Even though Mom saw her gift one day early, it was very exciting. And we did feel ultra modern, too! Isn't that funny how times change. Yes, it took some doing to learn to use a whole new appliance. Ah, we are getting old. :)
