With God watching over us we often experience happiness and get on the right track in spite of ourselves trying to derail our lives. I enjoyed your poem's light touch and honesty. Perhaps our lives have crossed. My bio, if written, would be similar save for getting oiled. The only hiccup for me is the last line of paragraph two. idk. Perhaps it is the way I read it. Good luck.

"You grew up on a "Currier and Ives" post card! This place is beautiful and quant and all that other neat stuff!" Have you ever been to West Texas? I am quite sure that God simply ran out of materials by the time he got to the Midland and Odessa areas. Except for herds of antelope running across the scorched prairie at sunset, I never saw one pretty thing. Then, to visit Mass and all of New England, my eyes and then my heart filled with true beauty. See you in Cape Cod for a Sam Adams and some "steamahs"?

Lovely poem about yourself, and very nice rhyming. I had a little trouble staying in rhythm, however only in a few places that you may want to cut the syllable count a little. Thank you for sharing this with us, as I really enjoyed it!

Thanks for stopping by and for the tip. My poetic mentor being Dr, Seuss, sometimes I do sacrifice rhythm for the sake of message and rhyme. But, I am not a great dancer, either. Honored that you enjoyed it. It was fun to write and in doing revisit some interesting old memories while keeping it fun and light.

Your poem shows well what formed your life in the right direction--oil rig floor and the navy. I like very well the direction of happiness your life took with a beloved wife and family, and yes, there is a God who loves you very much. We celebrate the reason we have hope in Heaven at Easter.

This made me laugh because it jogged a memory of a boyfriend that I had when I was young. He joined the Navy because of all the TV commercials--to see the world and all those exoctic girls. He would say, what world. I was stuck in the middle of an ocean. I didn't see anything but water all around me. Lol.
Author, I don't think you'll have to worry about God forgiving you. I think he already has. A well done Bio. Wishing you many more motoring years. LateBloomer

Great to hear from a fellow "life is fun" person. It certainly has its challenges - many of mine I brought on myself - but with the "wine, women and song" aspects, I am still enjoying the ride. Mix in loving dogs and cats and golf, I cannot complain! Thanks for stopping by my place.

Easter was always a special place at my wife's family and my own. So, we kept that rolling with our daughters. So much so, they would come home from college expecting hidden eggs in the front yard. Let us be Thankful for all the Happy He gave us. Thanks for stopping by.
