A fantastic retelling of the Easter story, and brought up-to-date at the end as well. The line about the dice being tossed didn't seem to flow too well (perhaps too many syllables), but I can see why you included it. Personally, I would have ended with the verse about the martyrs giving their lives for Him. That was particularly powerful.

I checked the syllable count, and it seems to be okay. Thanks for the review.

Hi, Paul,
That's a lengthy and remarkably thorough poem. Very nicely done! If there are any flaws, I didn't see them. To say that you are an accomplished poet, is an understatement. I doubt I could compose a poem of half its quality in a thousand years. Best of luck in the contest!
Kindest regards,
J. P.

Thanks, J. P. You are way too kind in your remarks, and probably way too modest in your talent.

This is faith poetry in the highest. It reminisces his unfolding and presentation to Israel, which whirled up envy among the clergy and predisposed his crucifixion.
The work highlights his incrimination, crucifixion and resurrection, which afforded his disciples the empowerment of the holy spirit that enabled them withstand death and to preach the gospel to the rest of the world.
The work earns its texture through its effective use of anecdotes reminiscent of the coming and saving grace of the Messiah.
Excellent work. Bravo.

Amen! This is wonderfully written. Those that don't believe can read your poem and will know and feel His presence. Best of luck with your entry in the upcoming contest. Many blessings to you

With excellence of rhyme and meter you presented the story of Jesus from triumphal entry in Jerusalem through crucifixion and resurrection and His word sent throughout the world up to His second coming.

A great history of Easter and Christ's resurrection. Excellent message.
You tell the story of this great holiday with great detail, and I love your imagery, visuals and presentation.
This would make a great contender in the contest, I wish you luck in the booths.

This conveyed so much. It's a poem but an entire story. I have yet to try a poem myself yet. This was so well done, so full of content and depth. Thank you for sharing your work.

The real story of Easter in verse told poetically. This is very well done. Your skill as a poet is obvious and your belief as a Christian is equally as clear.
I really enjoyed this post.

Good Friday is a time of reflection and prayer. This is a reverent accounting, in rhymed quatrains, filled with faith and true to the testament in the Bible. Your final quatrain reminds each of us of the sacrifice made to save us from eternal damnation. Peace be with you! I so appreciate the spiritual offering ~ a time to yet again consider the truest meaning of Good Friday and the joy of the Resurrection soon to be celebrated. Happy Easter!

Thanks, Karenina. It was a challenge to put this story into rhyme.
