This is a well don Whitney poem that shows us the positive side of having a fireplace. It is a comfortable place to keep warm in Winter cold. The artwork matches well with the words and the color scheme. The orange and yellow of the fire.

Ooh, sitting by the fireplace on anything to knock the chill off is a thrill. Especially, with a cup of hot tea, creamy chocolate, and maybe a piece of cake of some sort. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Good use of the Whitney poem to illustrate the warmth and comfort of a fireplace during cold winter nights. I would imagine it was a popular place for the whole family!

There's nothing like an open fire to make everything warm and cosy. Your poem makes me nostalgic for my Nan and Granddad's home - they always had a fire lit, and that fireplace was the heart of the home.

A fine poem of the memory of being warned by the fireplace. A fireplace not only warms the body, but also the heart with the comfort of home.

A fireplace is the warming heart - and hearth - of the family home. We find our familiar spot; I'm sure you'll miss it a lot - you describe it with affection.

I can relate to this. I can not stand getting cold. I like the picture. I enjoyed reading your poem. These type of fireplaces keep the room warm. I have a few in my house, but I have never used them. I like my little portable next to my bed. It is small, but works great. Thank you for posting.

Nice diagrammatical picture of the hearth with a bright red spot .I can understand why the person would miss that spot. I liked the format too. god bless!
