Hi Shauna,
Yes a public drinking fountain or a backyard fountain you can drink from on a hot day is a haven for all. This is a well done limerick about how what keeps us alive and moving.
Keep writing and stay healthy

I had a quick glance at your poem yesterday but didn't have time to review. Now I see it and notice that you've changed know's to know. Good idea. I was going to suggest that as it was unnecessary.
How nice to have such a lovely hand-made drinking fountain nearby.

Thanks, LisaMay, for your attention to my limerick! Yes, I think it flows a little better now. I will miss the private family fountain!

River rocks are truly the most effective purification system in the world for water. Well, as long as an earthquake or tremor doesn't happen to release bacteria from down deep. Yes, I understand your rock fountain doesn't do this. But your story brings things to mind for a still energetic, out-of-control brain. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

A wonderful limerick and those fountains are beautiful
Can I make a suggestion about "I know's":
The most beautiful garden fountain I know
and It's not just for show.
The water's ice-cold,
Turn the know and hold,
wet your whistle while you weed and mow.
Remember my suggestion does not mean that your work is not good in fact, it is delightful and shows how creative and talented you are. My tweaking can be taken or not.
Best wishes.
Mary

I would like to have one of these in my yard. They are in public places, however, with Covid they are not in service. Which is a great thing. I never understood how they were allowed anyway. If you think about all of the germs in the public places being a breeding ground for bacteria and viruses. However, it would be nice to have one in your own backyard for your own use. Thank you for the post.

Yes, Carolyn, a private drinking fountain is the best! I will be sad to see it change ownership soon. Thanks for your comment! Sending lots of good wishes to you.
