This is a nicely done abcb poem that describes a backyard that became a little slice of heaven for everyone you gathered there. It took much work but it was worth it. It sounds like a perfect place for a family wedding.

I enjoyed reading your poem.
It is in good rhyme and meter and the sentiment is so warm.
Great use of enjambment to aid the flow of your words.
The backyard of your family home was the backdrop for many an occasion and you speak of it so fondly. Lovely imagery throughout.

It appears that someone was looking out for you and all those at your outdoor reception. Many would dispute that thought, but sometimes, there just isn't a better answer. Thanks for sharing.

How blessed you are to marry in your lovely landscaped backyard. I lived with my mother and sister in an apartment and had a church wedding right before Christmas. The flowers were really pretty. :))

You describe this backyard haven well, full of beauty and a place for family activities and special moments.
Coincidence - I also got married in 1981. My parents-in-law had created a wonderful garden and I really enjoyed the reception held there.
Your rainbow would have felt like a wonderful omen of good times ahead.

You describe the hard work you put into this garden really well. I wish I had one to hang out in , because I'm stuck in lockdown in Shanghai at the moment. My parents have a great garden in New Zealand but it's a bit far away.
