This sounds like such a nice place to sit on a warm summer's day eating an apple which the tree provided. It is sad you had to leave. It sounds like your mother had died. Sorry for your loss.

If I had to pick one crop to raise, it would be an apple orchard. I love them and make the journey to to my native state to buy them fresh. The area is full of lush orchards and the best first of the season apples, in my humble opinion. Pink Lady are my favorite. Sending you my best for this marvelous poem, dear Mama,

The worst part is: you won't realized all the memories that are packed into the old home place and everything that goes with it until long after you've all moved on. Then, they'll come trickling back one after the other. :-) Thanks for sharing.

I adore apple trees and there is nothing more pleasing than picking a fresh apple off the tree and eating it. My daughter has two apple trees in her garden and the fruit haul eat year is abundant. I loved the sentiment here, a pleasurable read, love Dolly x
