Hello Melissa,
I stopped by and thought I could edge this one to the next level.
The subject matter is a really interesting choice, and you have worked well within the strict confines of amphibrach meter - the last line is a great example.
Very accomplished.
As always, I wish you well with your continued writing.
cheers

Hey phill... so delighted to get your note and thanks for the nudge!!! I have been so neglectful with my writing lately and hope to be a bit more consistent. Forgive me if I have neglected your writing too... I will pop over and take a look. Have a lovely day!

I enjoyed pulling out the whimsical and fantasy vibes with this one about Orion. Afterwards, I found the perfect artwork that showed off his belt. I DO love writing in amphibrach meter. I seem to hear it in my sleep... LOL. Thanks so much, Judy.

'Orion's Belt ', is an exceptionally well-written and delightfully descriptive piece. With craft and skill. This talented poet has told it as she sees it. I look forward to reading your next post.

Wow, this is a stunning example of weaving images into the minds of your readers -- just beautiful! I love the whole of this poem, but if you insisted I choose a favorite part, I'd have to pick that second stanza. :)
"...with tassels of comets tied up in a bow..." *sigh*

What a heavenly sight you will be, Melissa. ;) You are still spinning the web of delightfulness. Yet, you have grown. Now you moved into the heavens and use their splendor to dress with their beauty. :) Very delightful dance you have written. Thank you for sharing.

This is a great poem with a lovely picture that serves the story well. It would be great to experience traveling on a magic carpet or dream about floating around the heavenly bodies in space. The emotions our minds would feel getting away from all of the wicked ways going on in this world of today. Thank you.

You are welcome.
Comment from Gloria ....
This is a fine poem here, Melissa. Right off we know the author will be capturing all the stars of Orion and putting them to good use. And then you go on in pristine metre to explain all the other uses for the stars.
A fine read and many thanks for sharing.

The beauty and appeal of your vividly descriptive, expressive poem is enhanced by the flawless rhyming and meter. It has a "magic wand" flavor:
the wonders I'd create if I only could capture the stars . . . .

I am brand new to writing in general, but I have been enjoying poetry. I don?t know what amphibrach meter means.

Such magical beauty told in amphibrach meter!
Reads so very well aloud, as all exceptional poetry should.
Love the descriptors of the stars of Orion.
How I love to gaze up at the heavens on a clear night in Michigan.
Bravo!
Thank you for sharing!
