Your question is well explained, and I have questions from the Bible, too. This particular question, though, is answered in several places. I think the best answer is in 1 John 1:1-4. Some others aren't answered that clearly.
There are many things in the Bible to ponder and write about.

A very thoughtful post. I have always assumed that the Holy Spirit reminded the writers of the incidents and miracles and words of Jesus which He wanted recorded for future generations.
Very thought provoking!

Dear Friend, Thank you for your review ad the five stars. Yes, that's true. It could have been simply the Holy Spirit at work. We won't ever know that, will we?

Excellent entry for the Lent 2022, Week 5 contest. I remember lent when I was a little girl, good memories. Your writing is clear and easy to follow. It sounds like you followed the rules well. Good luck in the contest.

Dear Gypsy Blue Rose, Thank you for your comments on my writing. For me Lent is a season of thought and of reparation. I'm not sure if that's the right word, but what I mean is making good on any forgotten promises. Remembering all the kindnesses done for me throughout the past year
that I've never reciprocated. Is that reparation?

Thought-provoking free verse here, mystery writer. I think the topic is a strong one for Lent (indeed, for spiritual poetry as a whole) and is certainly something that both those of faith and not have considered for centuries. Your paired image goes well with your narrative and themes. Thank you for sharing.

Dear Friend, Thank you for your generous words regarding my writing. This was written with it being a Lenten subject, but it has excited quite a response from many FanStorian members.

That is a good question you have asked. The Bible tells us all Scripture is given by inspiration of God. I am sure that there must have been someone among the disciples who kept notes, and when the time came for them to write the Gospels, God inspired and brought to their memory they things they heard.

Dear Anne, Thank you for your answer to my question. I didn't know there was a record of His Words being kept by someone there at the time, so that explains that particular point for me at any rate.

You are welcome. this is just my opinion that someone recorded the teachings of Jesus.

After the Disciples had come to Jesus to learn how to pray, He taught them The Lord's Prayer, that was transcribed by Saint Matthew during the occasion. The Lord's Prayer is also recorded in The Gospel of Saint Luke, one of the four Evangelists. However, this version uses different words.

Dear Rosemary, Thank you for the answer to my question. I did not know there was a record of His words being actually written down, so I've learned something today haven't I? I have come to realize that to pose any question on a religious matter is to invite a stormy response. That wasn't my original intention, although I bow my head in submission to those whose knowledge is greater than mine. It was "The Lord's Prayer " that provoked this query although there are many instances where the same question could be asked.

I love the Lord's Prayer. At one time this prayer was recited to a resident at a nursing home every night before she went to bed. There is no competition in the Lord's Prayer, it teaches how to pray.

If anyone has a problem with this one branch of scriptures then I understand how they feel the scriptures aren't real. Couldn't we ask the same in all scriptures be it Christian, Jewish, Muslin or other?

Dear Tom, Thank you for your response to my question. I could never understand how the words spoken by Him in answer to apparently unrehearsed questions came to be recorded. I don't know how other religions go with the same question, but I think they had special people designated to note down the words of their Leader.

This is a well written, thoughtful piece. You ask relevant questions whether you are a Christian or not. Your writing feels honest and is descriptive. This reads like a story I poetic form, well done.

The questions and thesis for this is extraordinary. Maybe words that mean something are instantly retained and then written down for later reflection. I've always thought Bible is a great story inspired by actual events. It's harder to imagine the words given in absolute stone followed to the letter based on interpretation of whoever "wrote" it.

Love to read pieces that inspire me to give back something real from me.

Dear Kiwi Girl, Thank you for your review and the five stars. This is a genuine question that I've asked here. Nobody doubts the
origin of the words themselves. I would like to know just who wrote them down to be immortalised as the Word of God ?
reply by kiwigirl2821 on 02-Apr-2022
I realized that. Still the read for me personally moved to other places which I expressed. As a genuine question, I have wondered the same thing, however for different reasons. Take care.
