Y'know you aren't so far behind us, as we will be married 48 next month, but we dated over two years prior to that. So congratulations on your long marriage as well. I wrote next to my title, "and some thought it would never last" well Lol, there were times that I was one of those skeptics. Ha!

god I envy you. I have been married for 40 years but I knew her for 48 as I dream of meeting her for eight years before she walked into my life. I hope that we will be blessed with ten more years of happiness at least. very romantic senryu.

Aussie, I believe I was born in a great generation, where morals meant something & vows were honored, no matter what! (except in an abusive situation) We struggled, bought used furniture, lived down the basement of our house, while we worked hard to finish it and pay it off, while raising 3 kids. I'm not bragging, but a couple of our children started with everything and will be paying a long time for it.
Anyway, you are so sweet & I appreciate your kind review!

Indeed, fifty years of being together tells all that your love is real. In this day and age, not many couple lasts that long anymore, married or not. Married people get divorce after who knows how many years. Too many temptations that split a couple apart. Best of luck in the contest. Ver

I couldn't agree more! Lol, However my short phrase regarding; some thought it would never last, well at times I was one of of them! Now I wouldn't give him up for anything! I pray God gives us more time together!
