Congratulations on your well deserved win, and your fifty years of marriage. Both are lovely achievements. My parents shared sixty-four years of marriage before my dad was called home, and my mother followed shortly after. I think romance is still alive and kicking, even though we hear of so many divorces still. Well done, and keep the romance going!! :)) Sandra xxx

Sandra, you are so very kind & how wonderful to hear about your parents long marriage, but bittersweet that they went to Heaven, not far apart, as it was maybe too much to bear without him, yet hard for you Im sure.

Very hard for me, I miss them both a lot, they were wonderful parents. xxx

Your 17 syllable count love story was a sublime appreciation of your half a century of a successful relationship. The smooth flow of the words showed how satisfying that was. Great job, dear DEBI.

I appreciate the succinct summary of the truth of long lasting love. It is an inexplicable gift, that once given has a life of its own. The illustraio is wonderfula s well.

Thank you. It's nice knowing that at least for now, we still have each other!

Yes, it is

Told in a little different way, but effective. It is difficult to write a love poem within a Haiku, but you have done it. That is a very interesting picture. Good luck in the contest.

Time flies when you're having a good time! We're in our 54th year and counting. It is a gift when we get to journey through with our soul mates. Wishing you many more years of happiness!

Thank you for your lovely review. As we all know, it isn't always easy; in fact there were times I was one of those skeptics that I spoke of on my description (and some say it wouldn't last!) But I know without the hard work, the loving moments wouldn't have been so worth it!
I wish you & your husband, many more happy years together!

Your second line is a powerful response to the question you pose in your first line and opens the mind to the plethora of stories your relationship would tell. What a gift, indeed. Nicely done, and congratulations on 50 years!

It meets the requirements of the challenge however I would think you would be better served by answering your question on line one... like "day by day and night by night." :-)

FS asks we be involved, not that I do what I am told, but being DQ's twice, both canards, makes me walk the line.

I thought of Taylor Swift song when I was reading your poem. Taylor Swift wrote a love story at the age of 17 when her parents did not approve of the relationship she had at the time. Heartbroken, Taylor Swift put her sadness on the song, and this masterpiece was born.

Really? I have never followed her music, but I should look up that song.
