I really like this poem a lot. It is sure true how things can change so fast... both circumstantial and in our family and our lives.
Just yesterday I had 3 kiddos .... and just recently welcomed my 8th great grandchild! In a blink of an eye... lol Loved your music choice as well.
Thank you for sharing this with us and good luck in the prompt contest.

Hi gramalot, I thank you so much for all the kind words and special things you said about my older poem. I love how this seems to resonate with so many, as I always gramalot, thought that time would never move that fast until the older I got, the faster they were moving. Funny how that works. LOL

Thanks again my friend. Lotsa love, Debi

Hi Debi,
I enjoyed your fun poem! I've been reading a few of Robyn Corum's NaPoWriMo poems, and they are always fun. So yours fits right in. And so true, too. Life is fleeting. The years pass by so quickly, and then you look in the mirror one day wondering who is that old fart looking back!
My favorite verses,
"Now once again, another change
I'd face in my lifetime
How could it be I feel so old
When I'm still in my prime"
and,
"he love I have for family
More precious than a gem
I can't imagine my sweet world
Without each one of them"
Nicely penned, and congratulations on winning the Family contest! It's no wonder.
Hugs,
Kimbob

Well, Miss Debi, I guess what happens in between blinks is what makes life so interesting. Keeps us hopping, that's for sure.
I hope your legs are feeling better. I wish you could blink and be all well!
Thank you for all your help with my post. I just wonder if moving it higher gets people to read it. It's very high, now, due to you, and only 11 reviews. I think people see my name and know they won't agree with me and refuse to review it. We'll see. Tomorrow is another day, sayeth Scarlett O'Hara (and moi.)
Good poem and commentaries!

You would need to move another 20 places at $3.00 a move and would cost you sixty dollars. Please don't do that. It won't make any difference. If they are going to walk by you because they don't like what you had to say, then they will do that at the top too. Ok?
Thanks for the very kind review and comments and the six stars, dear friend.

well, I will never understand it, Deb. when I looked, it said I was number 3, with 2 places to go. So I don't understand the 20 places, BUT, GO TO SLEEP. forget it for now. I'm going to, too. :) night.

Let me explain it to you real fast. Look at what Terry has his story at. It is at $1.25. It would take you twenty more pumps just to get there and another one to go above. It doesn't matter what position. It is about what you are at for pay out amount. It is three dollars per pump, and at twenty pumps makes sixty dollars. You could be number two but it doesn't matter because you have to offer more than the one who is up there now. Does that help a little?

Hey, we all have our thing. And I don't understand it all, but I have been doing it since the late eighties so I know my way around. But it took years for me to teach myself.

But does it make sense now about the extra cost?
And of course, I am always here for you. I hope you know that. Whenever you have a question about something technology I will try to help.

And honey, never ever look at how many views the post gets. It means NOTHING!
It could mean that someone was too busy, or whatever. I never ever even notice mine anymore. Just pay attention to your reviews and watch while we get you and ATB!!
    LOL

you are a jewel!!! Technology is definitely not my thing.
however, yes, it does makes sense. Thank you for 'splainin'!
Now, if I can just remember it :(

Actually for as brave of a post as you wrote, I was expecting much more opposition than you have gotten so far. So that isn't so bad. When I write like that, I expect the worse and then am happy when it isn't is bad as I thought it would be. Haha! That is my version of positive thinking when it comes to voicing a political opinion. LOL, it works for me.

What a lovely way of describing the journey of a lifetime. You're absolutely right when you say that it's one blink after another. It seems impossible to look in the mirror and on the calendar and see what time he's done. God bless you sis and always good to read about my family! L O L

Dan, this is one I am very proud of. You will not hear me say that too often but even I thought it to have a few clever lines. Glad you liked it too and once again I can't believe you have honored me so many times with your stars, but someday I will pay you back. I hope I can do that by writing a poem for you soon. So many things have come up and when you were gone I had a little time, but it will come again soon. So thanks again, Sweet brother.
    Love, Debi

    3. Forgetfulness (When is yours and Pam's birthday?)

This poem resonates with me and I'm glad you released it again because I missed it the first time. I feel all the thing you mention. I married young too, but for me it seemed the right choice. I never regretted it. Those years seem to fly by and I imagine how I got old. Things ache but my brain doesn't feel any older than it ever did. Thankfully I still have a lot of love and joy in my life.

Awe, Chrissy, I didn't realize we had so much in common. I mean with our three kids, six grandkids, you just celebrated your 50th April 17th and May 18th is our 50th. I married at 18, but we also eloped. So I truly feel that I did tell yours as well. Everyone seems to relate, but yours is the closest to mine yet. That is awesome, Chrissy. And Happy Golden 50th Anniversary to you!!

Thanks for the wonderful congrats, for the awesome six stars and for the nostalgic walk down memory lane with me, dear friend. I loved your sweet comments and review. Thanks again for it all! Love, Debi

There's my Six for the day! This was adorable and so very true, Debi, and I'm liking the fact that your font, though still cursive, is a lot easier to read than some of your past pieces. This one hit home in so many ways, (just found out this past weekend that my baby is having a baby, our eighth grandchild!) Thank you for posting this gem!

Laurie, thank you so very much for the awesome comments for my first revived post. It was a fun one to write but even more fun to see how many can relate to it. And thanks too for what you said about the font. I wish I wasn't so infatuated with the fancier ones but I might use this one more often.

Congrats on your eight grandbabe! Oh how I wish I would have another baby to spoil. I am so jealous. Our baby is 12 now so I still am enjoying him wanting to come on school holidays and in the summer. The rest still visit but it isn't the same fun. So what ever you do Laurie, try not to blink!! LOL

Thanks again, my dear friend for gracious six stars and the lovely review. Hugs! Love, Debi

Oh, how true your words. It's hard to imagine that these years really do seem to disappear in the blink of an eye. A nice portrait of you and your family in these words.
