This is a lovely piece of poetry in 5-7-5 form. Your lovely photo is perfect, as I love how it shows the mama and baby, who are the closest to the human emotion, when it comes to caring for their young. Actually the elephant has healing powers when it comes to the mother child relationship!

Well, Karenina is a very talented poet indeed. I love her work. And this poem is a successful collaboration! Pachyderms at the spa - did they have cucumber slices on their eyes? What a fun image! I liked this one.

June,
Hopefully there is someone there to place the cucumber slices on their eyes. I can?t see how the elephants can do that by themselves LOL
It was great fun working with Karenina on this post. We will do it again.

A cleaver, creative and fun three line poem the contest. I love the alliteration and the idea of an elephant mud spa soak. . Original and a pleasure to read.
Well done.

Janet,
Thank you for your blessings on this poem collaboration. The elephants get a free soak whenever they want. What animal would challenge them? LOL

Hello Mark, a fun three-line poem with great alliteration.
I especially liked:
summer spa mud soak
(And an "au naturel" one. Cost $000.00. Memories a lifetime, especially if you're an elephant. Thank you, Mother Nature.)
Fantastic artwork choice. As this is a contest entry, I wish you good luck. LateBloomer

It is a small world we live in. My wife, as a teenager, had visited a family during her Christmas New Year break. After a 50 year hiatus, she got in touch with one of the two brothers who she met. The watercolor artist is the wife of that friend. Unbeknownst then, but now known, the husband is distantly related to me!

Small world indeed. Sounds like you need to do an Ancestry DNA test. My husband found three brothers through Ancestry. It all turned out very good. They are solid citizens.

I'll admit I don't know the meaning of pachyderm but I intend to look it up. However I feel your flows well and I especially liked your last line. All the best in the contest.
With regards

Hello Mark D.R. a good day to you. I hope this finds you well. I liked your 3 line poem entry, your three lines describe the scene (or potential of the scene) so well. Great job and good luck!

John,
Thank you for your compliments on this post. My collaborative effort with another FS poet was the best part of this particular writing experience.

Thanks Anne! The watercolor was the inspiration for the poem. Normally, it is the reverse for me.

I don't know how to critique so few words. Does it meet the requirements? I suppose with five-seven-five poems, yes. Does it make sense? Surely, it does. Bravo being sent for the attempt at trying various gebres.

Tom,
My only poetry niche is the short poem, predominately 5-7-5. Funny, I can?t write longer verses and rarely critique the same (-;

Some like tea straight up. Others add sugar. Still, another wants cream or the worst would be wanting cream and sugar. I understand. I am the opposite though occasionally I try the shorter challenges,
