The next day, I brought him in to see a Cardiac Specialist. (The following day.... it has to deal with the definition of both words)
The pressure gradient
had decreased again to 50mmHg. I starting crying, knowing he wasn't leaving us any time soon. (spacing issue, 'had' need to be next to 'gradient' Probably the other way around, because of the paragraph issue.)

The funny thing about life is it is unpredictable. A healthy person or animal that should live for a very long time, dies suddenly from a freak accident or from some rare disease. Someone or some animal who should not be expected to live for but a short time, lives to a ripe old age despite continued health challenges. You just never know. Truly, life is funny that way.

What a little fighter having beaten all the odds against him. I have to give you much credit too for not giving up on him. Most people would not have taken the extra steps and expense to keep him going each time.
You and your husband are his angels for the care and love you gave Leo.
He certainly had the heart of a lion.
