Hi Jesse,
I know this is old. But it is relevant to you and anyone in a wheel-chair. We need to see and accept them as people who have all the mind and abilities of all of us but just can't walk. It is always right to acknowledge anyone you see.
Keep writing and stay healthy

Thank you for this well thought out non-fiction work. You appear to enjoy being
a positive thinking type person. Congratulations on your abilities.
I am in a chair and find it hard to keep negativity at bay. I have been helped
by meditation, stress management and pain management sessions. I find it
helpful to pray.
I am concerned that your constant positive attitude is a bit of a facade and
not reflective of your true feelings. Chip off some clay and allow your
mix of feelings to emerge. Allow yourself growth experiences that self
awareness can bring.

Thank you for your review. I am sorry that you find it hard to keep negativity at bay.
I think it is a sad day when a positive-sounding person is told that their attitude is a facade. Each writer has the freedom to choose what they want to write about.
I choose to be positive. Enough said.

I am sorry that I offended you, Please accept my apology for my rudeness. You
are a role model, a great example of
the power of positive thinking.I have
hurt your very soul by thoughtlessness.
Sincerely.

Jesse, I am relieved you accepted my
apology. Usually I am not so blatantly
insensitive.

Our dreams show our true desires and self-value. I admire your attitude hugely. Everyone else should see you as you see yourself - it is usually other people who put limitations on us. I hope and pray for you that your operation is soon and that you can enjoy walking those nature trails on your own two feet beside David.

Hello, Jesse!
I am sorry to have missed your fine essay; we were in Colorado when you posted, and I did not have the access to my computer that I usually enjoy.
I have every confidence that you will walk again! Your determination and perseverance shine through brightly. I so hope your operation is soon!
Thank you for sharing and best wishes!

Good morning, Diane!
Thank you for this wonderful surprise of an exceptional rating and encouraging review.
Thanks for your confidence booster and I too hope my operation comes soon.
I am going in for a consultation in a couple of weeks and hope they give the go-ahead and do it right away. I will have to wait and see.
Welcome back, my friend, and best wishes to you as well.

What a powerful statement you have made here Jesse. Of course you are not the wheelchair that carries you, nor the clothes you wear or the food you eat. You are the person who lives inside of your skin. I hope your knee gets the attention it needs soon because I want you to be able to walk those nature paths you so much enjoy. Your writing is excellent and without a blemish, just like your triumphant spirit. Best wishes in all you do. MM

Wow, what a lovely surprise this morning!
Yes, of course, I am not all those things you mentioned. I am me!
Thanks for the inspiring and encouraging review, my friend!
Your kind words are so appreciated!
I hope, as well, that I get my left knee fixed so, that I can walk again, and real soon!
Thanks for the exceptional rating and review, and may you have a marvelous day!
Your friend,
Jesse

Sorry for the delay. Life has gotten in the way. Thank you for the exceptional rating and review! I appreciate your kind words and your prayers for my surgery to turn out right. My knee will never be normal again but perhaps it will be even better!

-Nice image and essay to go with it, Jesse.
-I didn't know you were waiting on knee surgery.
-Why does it keep getting postponed?
-You do a good job showing what you
see in your dreams and how you are
determined to make them real.
-I think getting the walking sticks was
a good idea and can serve as extra motivation.
-I also like your last two paragraphs that
include the dream and the message of
seeing you as you are, "myself, standing proud and free."
-Thoughts are with you, and I think your
determination will take you a long way.

Hello,
-A lovely story of resilience, keeping hope alive.
-You keep hope alive in this story and dreams living.
Thank you for this story and sharing another perspective that does not park us and leave us stationary in our observations.
-What I like must about your piece is it's conversation.
-Very well done.

Jesse,
This is very-well written and inspirational true story.
Your words, like 'notice me, rather than what I am riding in,'
makes such a good point about how society views some persons with disabilities.
Sometimes (dis)- abilities enable us to have newfound courage in living, and give us a lot of strength we earned.
Your cogent arguments are exceptional and eloquently written.
Good luck and best wishes,
Cindy

You?re welcome, Jesse.
Thank you for your words of encouragement. My disabilities do not define me either, but they?ve given me much needed strength. Those of us who sometimes have to work harder in life are better for it.
Good luck, Jesse, with all of your endeavors.
Blessings,
Cindy
