This is a great one-hundred word short story. If this were a true story I would say the young lady too proud to apologize, was lucky the man she wrongfully accused didn't try to pay her back by harming her. I love these flash fictions. Best wishes in the contest.

Thanks, Lorraine. I hoped the reader would pick up on the fact that she made a horrible mistake and instead of owning up, she preferred to pretend it was nothing. I think in real life she might reconsider.

Me too! I just wanted to expose her arrogance and unwillingness to back down (like road rage). Lucky for her, he just wanted to scare her and maybe think twice next time.

This one didn't go where I was expecting it too. The guy was satisfied with scaring her within an inch of life. It would be nice if all stories that start this way could end so tamely.

Thank you... I am here but it has been a struggle of late. but I am a survivor and continue to push forward in hopes of a better tomorrow. Writing is my life blood and without it, I shrink away and surrender to life's problems. so I am forcing myself to write something even if it is only a flash. Thank you again.
