An excellent poem, thoughtful, relevant, and thought-provoking. At the same time the repetition of the last line seems effective - at showing how stubborn and merciless some people can be. You mention dysfunctional families, rampant crime, and the horrid effects of proud tyrants - yes, we must pray for change, and that love and understanding will prevail. Perfect and smooth rhyme and metre throughout.

This poem is well written. Love the meaning, the sentimental value of what home is about. Compassion is a wonderful word; but misplaced power, hardened hearts, and a dysfunctional home are a few words that means problems.

Wonderful poem. Only for a little while hearts will be tightly shut. The Lord will open the skies and all will see him. Love the poem and wishing you the best in the contest.

This is a very good poem. Your poem expresses the sentiments of many of us. Your poem reads and flows well. The message that your poem delivers is needed. Nice job.

Excellent entry for the Repetition writing prompt contest. The rhymes do not seem forced and your poem flows well. It draws upon emotions and it presents strong images. Good luck in the contest.

There are too many bitter, hardened hearts in the world when there is so much love to receive. What a wonderfully written poem.

Good luck in the contest!
Have a great day, and God bless.

Apart from being a very fine piece of writing which meets the criteria for the Repetition writing prompt, this strikes a chord with it's relevance to the times in which we struggle to survive, perturbed by the rotten goings-on in the world generally, and in the Ukraine in particular. Very poignant and thought-provoking.

There is much compassion missing in the current war in Ukraine and one man's cold heart has caused lots of grief among the people who were living peacefully. I enjoyed your positive words here, very uplifting, love Dolly x

If one wants their child to feel insecure let him be born into a dysfunctional home, if you want a child to be secure and well balanced, give them a home of harmony, where they are secure, a nurturing haven, they will be likely grow up well, nice written in tetrameter, aabb blessings Roy
