This poem is like a recipe for a perfect day. I like the play on words with seasoning. The picture fits well as does the title.
Congrats on placing third in the contest.

Hi Wendy,
I like your salad. You mix blue sky, crisp air, and scented leaves in your big bowl, with just the right touch of seasoning. Nice play on words for the Autumn season... "seasoning". I think this particular 5-7-5 might pass for a haiku.
This is a nice entry for the 5-7-5 Poetry contest... Good Luck with it!

    Thank you very much. Yes, we do enjoy it because it is a relief from the excessive summer heat (although this year was very mild, as we had lots of rain instead ... and catastrophic flooding).

I liked your wordplay with the "seasoning" bit. You painted a pretty picture with your words, and the actual picture was perfect to accompany the poem. Thanks for sharing.

Lovely poem, Wendy. I'm familiar with the sky as a bowl ... but a SALAD bowl, well that's a delightful variation. You sustain the metaphor beautifully. Indeed it's a feast for the soul.

Winter days in Brasilia were as you describe. Deep blue skies and crisp air. But no scented leaves..

I love this clever entry and I feel sure it will do well in the contest.

That's the same color of the sky in Texas, and without a cloud in it. That's one of the reasons I love Texas. Thank you for sharing. Actually today, it's cloudy, which is unusual. We needed rain badly, so I shouldn't complain. Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. Good luck.

Very clever! I love the description of the sky as a bowl. That is so cool. It's perfect, too. It does remind us of a huge bowl encompassing us all. That's so fun -- WE'RE the meal in the middle! hahaha

    Thank you Anne! Normally Autumn is refreshing after our long summer heat, but summer was not as hot this year - because of weeks of rain culminating in floods. So I really appreciated the beautiful sky the other day.
