poor people...and like you...I pray for them...
these people were like us...just living their lives...
and now...everything they had...is destroyed by war...
it's just so wrong...
your story is very well written...though so very sad...

I am sure that this is true of so many people in Ukraine and other countries that are torn by war and trouble. You have portrayed the despair that faces them, but thankfully there are those who are reaching out like the neighbour in your closing words.

Well said. We could all use a little gratitude in our lives--we should show more as well. A great thought in so few words. I would like to see this expanded into a longer story to discover what happened to put him in this situation and how his life changed because of the gratitude shown him. Just a thought.
