Karenina,

Why didn't you wait 'til Sunday when I would have a six? I don't know how to critique this other than to say, "Spectacular!" What a job of weaving in all the celestial references and showing reverence for the poetry of the spheres. Abundant with romance in every sense of the word. You humble me.

Sue

If I said this was stellar, you would think I was being punny, but it truly is far and above normal fare here.

I have enjoyed the interesting poem of Emily Dickinson. It is clear and concise. I like it. Nice job. Excellent work! No mistakes found in your poem. Thanks for sharing!

Karen,

Did you really go??? If so, I gotta admit, I'm pretty stinking jealous. Wow.

I'm surprised you didn't save this for a contest! It's smooth and sweet and ethereal. The words are magical - I ADORE all the ring metaphors. You are such a brilliant writer - why not MORE!!????

No sixes, I'm afraid. Hugs, instead! t:)t !!

Hugs MUCH better than sixes! I live twenty minutes from Amherst and visit Emily at least twice a month... If you ever come this way, I'd be happy to bring you there ~ I'll even throw in lunch! It's amazing...always single roses strewn on her grave and countless folded up poems weighted down along the top of her gravestone with small rocks... Amherst is in the hub of the seven sisters of colleges: Smith, Mount Holyoke, Barnard, Wellesley, Vassar, Radcliffe, Bryn Mawr. Emily attended Mount Holyoke for a time. Her home is there as well as a museum. I was offered a full scholarship to Mount Holyoke when I was in my twenties. Alas, I did not grasp what an amazing opportunity that was! (I turned it down.) I'm trying to post more! I promise! Thanks, Robyn, for always encouraging me!

This is a well written poem. The picture you chose definitely compliments this poem well. The quote "Hope is the thing with feathers..." Stood out to me. Nice job.

I've been in love with Emily's work since age eleven. She's the poet who inspired me to write. I'm fortunate to live just twenty minutes from Amherst and so get to visit her grave often. Last week the muse stirred the beginnings of this poem...

    Thanks,

I think we all dwell in possibilities, wishing our tomorrows to be more fulfilling than today. And hoping that all we've dreamt about is circling the surface and waiting for the perfect moment to come true. Thanks for sharing.

Ah, it's nice to be a romantic... Now HOPELESS romantic is another pill to swallow... Still, I love to go to Amherst and visit Emily, and for once the muse woke up and took notice! Love has to time clock!
    Thanks, Ric, for your comments!

Your view about living is a true appreciation, yes, we do live in possibilities, every moment is uncertain, this way or other, for we can't guess moments in advance; as if we are bound to live in possibilities; well said, well done; post more. ALCREATOR LITT DEAR (D R)

I have a very S-L-O-W muse. My mind is full of tumbling words, it's my pen that lags behind! Thanks for your kind words!

Thanks so much. I live just twenty minutes or so to Emily's grave, in Amherst. She is my favorite poet and so I visit her often. The muse began to spark on my last visit...

This is a beautiful piece, Karenina. An engaging story of engagement. Romantic, airy and elegant. I didn't know her tombstone inscribed: Called back... Informative and interesting as well.

Indeed, it is! I visit her grave often... Such lovely roses left there and many folded poems, weighted down by small rocks, upon her gravestone. I was there just last week, snow mixed with a smattering of leaves... Alone, but oh, the muse can elicit love from willing poets! Should you ever find yourself in Western Mass. allow me to guide you there! It's inspiring.
    Thanks for your comments,

Wow! So thrilled to see a post from you today! Loved your free verse and there is such a connection between souls when they are poet souls and can explore the universe together through poetry. Beautifully said!!
