True only too true. Death can never win. This world is a changing world and d at his only the change.
We are terrified because of our emotional attachment.if we give this up, we won't even notice it.but that's not possible for all of us. We love those we love and those near us. Separation become crosses .
The truth resides in not being attached. Yet this could seem hypocrisy.

That's a different slant on death, and it is fresh and original, with Death as a character on a stage, coming out of cue, and slipping onto a stage when he shouldn't . It is well written, and Linda will appreciate your poem in her book.

Beautiful poem....a wonderful gift of poetry and prayer for Linda, as she mourns the unexpected death of her brother! Done and Dickinson--great choices to integrate into this poem!

Loved this, Santha! And that you make literary allusions to Donne and to Dickinson, makes this extra special. Thank you so much for adding your prayers and this beautiful poem of encouragement!
Suggestions but only if makes sense to you. Could be my American English:
to pick up someone out of turns (We take turns. But it's out of turn.)
Safe are they in God's arm (arms) somehow we use in the plural. But I know in the Hebrew Old Testament, they use the singular.

You have penned a powerful, expressive poem about the limited power of death. It can only take the body. The believer's soul resides with the Lord ("To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.")

A fine contribution to the book. This packs a powerful punch as to the chilling truth that death often strikes unexpectedly. Uplifting ending as to rebirth.

This is a well written poem. I liked the title of this poem. Your poem reads and flows well. I particularly liked the third, and fourth stanzas in this poem. Nice job.

I think death is there to take those who don't have the believe that we are all energy. . .and the soul goes on for eternity. While our bodies do wear out, death does not and cannot take our soul, if we don't allow it to do that. This poem speaks of death not taking control, a strength that equals death. . .love will always win. Best of luck with this writing.

Sanku, that is lovely. Death doesn't go where we believe it should, old ones first, youngest last. Life isn't like that, and it does catch us out. It's so unfair, but it doesn't care. I'm sure Linda will find some comfort in your words. :) Sandra xx
