Was your grandma dead? Who was the ghost?
Good entry for the True Supernatural Story writing prompt contest. I liked the part about acting like kids and your sweet grandma. Good luck in the contest.

No, my grandma was not dead. I have no idea who the ghost was because we didn't see anyone. That actually made the entire incident more frightening.

The power and faith in the Lord.... Awesome, LeAnn. The question is did you ask Grandma about the visit or did you ever have a sleepover again?
Great chiller and definitely one that would stay with you forever.

We didn't tell her till a few years later because we didn't want her to be afraid. Lol and no, we never slept over again. Thanks for stopping by, my friend.

I don't know what era you are from, but I still refuse to call my 'puff' a comforter. We had feather puffs for what people now refer to a comforter. I would think living in an old house, there would be spirits. I know there were in my grandparents' house. I absolutely love your choice of simile: "My insides felt like the percussion section of a marching band, booming and speeding like a drum roll." & "A chill rushed up my spine like the Mercury in a thermometer." Well recorded

My grandma's house was built in the early 1900s, and this incident happened in the early 1990s. Definitely something I won't forget. Thank you for your comments and review. Hugs and blessings.

I got thinking, sometimes objects introduced into the house sometime carry a spirit. My friend & I were creeped out by a picture our friend had hanging of her great aunt in her her living room. We both dowsed so we released the spirit that was caught in the picture. Eeeek

Oh, how I can relate to this! There are truly things that go bump in the night...and regardless of age our inner children quake a bit and go running for comfort! I've grasped a crucifix in my time...praying that Jesus would deliver me from whatever fearsome thing crossed my path. Chills on my neck here! Good job!

My grandmom lived in a super "haunted" loft apartment on the third story of a three-family when I was little... I loved our special times with sleepovers...but man, I said more "Our Father's" there than in church!

I really like your story. And things happen sometimes, ones we cannot explain. And the part of you adult children staying at your grandma's house is wonderful. Your grandmother sounds like a caring and great woman. Thank you for such a fantastic story.

Yes, she was. Sadly, we lost her about 15 years ago when she was 86 years old. We truly thought she would live forever.
Thank you for reading and for the review. Hugs.
