Tragic story. Hope it helps ease the pain expressing the events of that night. I've been through Manahawkin on the way to the shore. At first, I thought it was Manasquan. I lived in Trenton.

Thanks for your review and time and comments.
I have lived in Tuckerton now and not Manahawkin for about 2 years.
It's not because of the bad memories.

So sad. It's why we always worry about our children. A wrong decision and we shoulder the tragedy of their leaving us for the rest of our lives. My deepest sympathy. I will keep Jason in my thoughts.
Since part of our reading each other's writing is to help each other improve, the sixth line in the stanza beginning 'Now, hold on Tight!', you wrote "Qnd". I think you mean "And".
Nice work. Thanks for sharing your story. Stay well.

Thank you for sharing. The pain and memory will remain but in the end, it is the love shared that burns in recognition of life's fragility and how we should choose our friends wisely. They are after all signboards to our sadness and pain and in some cases, death. It is a memory that stains, that does not allow for erasure (of course, not)

Thanks so much Teri for stopping by and my deepest condolences on your recent loss.
I hope she's feeling much better where she's at and she's no longer in pain.
