You have really seized the cow by the horns here, H. A superb allegory written in perfect rhyme and metre, and I found the grammar understandable instantly, adding an extra layer of complexity here.

Thank you very much Gloria. This was a site contest so I don't think it went through the CEC but who knows : ) I will be shocked if my work ever wins one of the site contests! It is enough satisfaction to know that my work has to be read by whoever these secret reviewers are, haha. But I bet this is one subject most of the members of the site agree on, for once : )

Thanks very much! I used to write a lot more poems based around postage stamps; this is the first one of those I have done in a while.

: ) thanks so much. Most of my recent submissions were for non-blind contests, so notifications go out for them. I have long strings of anonymous entires from time to time though and you'll only see those ones on my profile.
Readers like you really help keep me on my toes with original content. I actually started out my creative writing with designing postcards to go with stamps I liked, so this particular entry has come full circle. Maybe it's a sign to make more postcards...
