Mankind's dream was realised, but that very fact still encourages many to have big dreams of becoming astronauts themselves. Your poem is very well presented with both images and background colour.

Where was the astronaut? Was he on the moon or earth? I don't think the Moon has flowers blooming unless he was on an unknown planet where flowers can grow.
It is an interesting poem about science and ambition.

Well done.

The astronaut was on earth looking at the moon and eventually made it. Back at earth, kids share the same dream.

    Thank you very much, Lisa.

GBR,

Good choice of illustration to pair with your words. The astronaut dream was never mind, but I was happy to see Armstrong step off unto the moon in the early morning in 1969. That was the thrill for all the boys and girls on this planet.

Studies have long shown that a great percentage of youngsters want to become astronauts--validating the timely message in your appealing, descriptive poem.

I enjoyed this poem and enjoy this type of poetry inspired by pictures. This one in particular is iconic particularly inspiring to me- worked in the space industry for many years. On the ship that picked up Friendship 7. USS NOA DD841.

Yes, we're the generation who really saw space travel as a possibility as we saw our astronauts land on the moon. I just hope we don't destroy the fragile balance of things out in space as we have done on earth. Sigh!

As always you have an interesting picture and a lovely poem. I got old too fast to be the astronaut I dreamed of being. Now I can hope for the kids of today to fly into space as I write science fiction for young adults.

Mankind has always been infatuated with heavenly bodies. Probably more so in the past when light pollution wasn't as common.

The artwork is awesome, Gypsy.

Suggest "boys and girls" to replace " little boys" STEM programmes are encouraging youth of both sexes to join the space challenge.

Anyway it's March so IWD is right around the corner.

Stay safe and blessed

Julia

Thank you very much for taking the time to read and review my poem. I appreciate your helpful feedback. I change it to boys and girls, you are right. I was thinking of a male astronaut like the first man on the moon.
