There are indications that the Soviet bullying ambitions are coming to nought, they expected little opposition, but even the regular Soviet soldier had been lied to, but you're right Chris, beautifully written, good luck, blessings Roy

Of course, almost invariably, someone--some country or faction--will be declared the winner, the one with the most shallow river of bloodshed! Your poem is very expressive, realistic, and timely.

So very true. In this war declared by that madman, everyone suffers including his own people and I hope his people will stop him from doing any more damage! Best wishes in the contest!
Good to see you back, Christine! Hope all is well!

Comment from Sally Carter
Very powerful. And although the picture is amazing, the poem stands equally well on words alone.
I'm pretty unfamiliar with these various short forms, but seems to me you have achieved a great effect with so few syllables. I like it!

Hi Sally Thank you very much for taking the time to review this Lune. I think the secret is to create an image with words but as we like pictured poetry here I always try to find an image to suit and Cleo85 has great choices to use
Glad you like this and lets hope this war and all wars end soon
Cheers Chris

Good luck wishes for the Lune Poetry contest, Christine. The picture was awesome yet so sad. And your words expressed so much anger at the effects of war-death, that happens to all of us when it is time-just not so unexpectantly. Very well done, sadly but greatly enjoyed.

You are so very welcome, Christine. I totally agree that Man never learns the price of war. Perhaps he should.

One can only hope Alie

That is so true.

You're right, the only one who doesn't understand this, is Putin. He is a maniac, and should be locked away for good. As you say, there are no other words are needed. Good luck in the contest, my friend, your Lune poem speaks volumes. Warm hugs. Sandra xx

Hi Sandra Thanks and agreed Yes I can?t understand why we don?t have world leaders who we can admire. A sad world at the moment . No winners here
As always Cheers and hugs back x Chris

All the leaders of the world should read your poem. I can't comprehend what goes on in the minds of some people. No body wins. War creates sadness, death and pain, we the people suffer. We should be helping each other, not hurting.
