This was a great Haiku, Gypsy. The picture was one of beauty which no one but you could have described it this way. Your words flowed wonderfully, with grace and dignity. Very well done, greatly enjoyed. Blessed be n hugs!

This is a beautiful example of the hai kai. Is the spelling -Kai Kai deliberate? I found your notes really a big help, I particularly liked the blazing red hair in the picture, thanks so much, Gypsy.

Thank you very much, Giddy. I appreciate your exceptional review and six stars. The spelling is kaikai, one word.

It ends with an enigmatic or even ominous note. Does she live a life of sorrow? Die she shed a tear a moment ago, and not let others see it?
You did an excellent job of presenting a poem that really causes the reader to find interpretations.

I like this poem - The poem describes the subject in the pretty picture of the girl with the red hair - found it interesting how the first half of the poem went with the first half of the poem and the second half went with the second half of the poem - very clever - good use of words to describe you lower picture - good job

What a clever link of the color of red hair and the color of the sunset. It flows very well from the red hair to the end, a very smooth transition.
Well done.

Hello Gypsy
So haikai is a sort of comic tanka. I like the over the top explosion of red in your poem. A parody of sorts. Especially with the swans singing their swan song to the sunset.
Thanks for sharing and teaching.
Stay safe and blessed

It's very similar to Tanka but not the same. It started as humorous and even crude, but Matsuo Basho changed that to a more serious form. Haikai is the predecessor of haiku. It's supposed to be a collaborative poem but for the club event it's for one poet.
Thank you very much for your review and feedback. Blessings.

You painted a lovely picture with your words here. Her red hair echoes in the red of the sunset. The swan song conjures up a sad tone because that usually refers to death. I guess it is the death of a day.

I didn't know about swan songs... Very interesting. I guess I knew it instinctually.
Thank you very much, Helen.

You are truly a wonderful poet. I like how the colors change with the progression of the sunset. You always manage to amaze me. Thanks again for sharing your work.

What a beautiful poem, particularly that last line, "where swans sing to the dusk" there singing voice is not the best. Beautifully written Gypsy, superbly done, blessings Roy
