Wow! This is truly spectacular. The effort to write it is amazing, but the coloring takes it to another level. The political aspect is also quite clever. Bravo. Most creative.

Hey, thank you very much. In case you're interested, this was the first 2D acrostic I did -- and it was probably the second hardest, in terms of hours invested and head scratching, slightly less than "Thundersnow", since I didn't try to rhyme the lines here. It was written in one furious sitting as Russia's invasion of Ukraine was beginning and I probably spent as much time fighting with the colors as I did writing the darn thing. I really appreciate you taking the time to look at these pieces as they are definitely among the most demanding literary forms I've attempted so far.

Lots of "game-playing" here, as well as on the world stage (of course, there the consequences are much more dire!). Well thought through, and well done to persevere in promoting your own work, although you shouldn't have to go to that extreme to get your work seen.

Thank you very much Wendy. Yeah I could have spent less to promote it to page 2 or 3, but a lot of that stuff just doesn't get seen. Due to a lot of folks regularly promoting their work up to the front page in recent weeks, there has been considerable cost inflation since the last time I promoted my stuff. You used to be able to get up to the front page for less than $0.90 in credit, but now it's usually over $1.10, which is another 15 cent pumps (roughly double what it was earlier). I guess it is a good thing for the site management, as it means people are paying real money to promote the work, but for those of us not spending the bucks we have to do more reviewing and less promoting. Ah well, I guess that is the free market and scarcity at work : )

I agree. I don?t pay real money ever, so it is a lot of reviewing. The thing is, some of the highest review money is for very low quality work, and they kid themselves that because they get lots of reviews (and hence move up the rankings quickly) that they are good writers. Some, not everyone. It?s a silly game. Here, money certainly talks. And don?t get me started on some of the contests?.

Yeah tell me about it. I've been hosting satire contests over how ridiculous some of them are. LOL. Yep I have done a TON of reviewing here. But still haven't spent or earned a dime of real money, apart from what I pay monthly to be on here. Maybe I will win the reviewing contest eventually, but I'll have to follow a planned strategy for that. We will see : )

Not necessarily the factors, but the sped of getting the right info to the brain, instead of going around the houses.

I hope so too. All sorts of propaganda is flying around, making it quite challenging to know what is going on in Ukraine right now. Thanks very much Laura for this great review -- glad you liked the piece!

Acrostics are hard at the best of times, but you've made yours not only interesting, but the presentation is wonderful as well. What is happening in Ukriane is terrible, and Putin is the worst slimball ever to have walked the Earth. I love the way you have each word with the same starting initial in the same colour! That must have taken a lot of time. Worth it thought, this is a great acrostic for the contest. Good luck!! :)) Sandra xx

I think it was because I took the piece down while I was working on it and it voided the initial promotion. Thank you very much for your commentary. I think Xi may turn out to be much worse, but he is more subtle. We will see. I used a lot of HTML and experimenting to get those colors to pop the way they did, but it is all manual, not actually coded -- but I think in the future I will try to write a script to make that job simpler. Thanks for the stellar review Sandra!

You deserve 5 stars for creativity alone. Your entry displays a large amount of creative daring. I would have thought that a photo with Vlad Putin in it would have garnered at least a few reviews. Maybe people were confused and overwhelmed by the sheer volume of words and terms used in the piece.

Thank you very much, Nomi! What I think happened was, I published the entry preemptively right before midnight so that I could fit in two other releases the next day, but I wasn't ready to publish it, and taking it off for a day canceled the default promotional views and reviews. And it was a site contest so I don't even know who reads those, but I've definitely written things that annoy whoever those people are. But yeah I think your theory is also correct, as the lousier reviews on this piece are from those who didn't want to look up new words. Writing anything vaguely coherent in this crazy format pretty much demands ambitious use of unusual words. I am going to host a contest on this format soon and it will be interesting to see how others manage it, if they participate.
