I am quite uneasy about all of it,
if I stop to think about it.
I have never trusted technology, although
I find it amazing, and wonderful in so many ways.
But...what about that which we don't see?
Wonderful poem estory, a statement of these
times we're in.
I found out today that my trac-phone, which
I carry for emergency only, will be useless as
of tomorrow. It's 3G, and I'll need 4G...whatever
all that means.
BUT...the company can sign me up right now for
a 100 percent free government phone, simply
by answering a few simple questions.
Why does all that sound so suspicious?
I think not.
I'll buy another cheapy, and call it good.
Loved this,
blessings...

Thanks for the excellent review and your little perspective on it certainly illustrates my point. But I am glad I made people think. And maybe think twice. estory

Yes it did!

Hi estory, Yep, the world and the technology has become a scary place, in my humble opinion. Do we really want to live as you describe it. I for one certainly don't. But how to escape it is becoming increasingly difficult.
You certainly achieved your goal with this well written poem. Ulla:)))

E story,
Your poem lives up to what you want to achieve per your author notes. It reads like computer language. I sense the "danger" you're portraying, as computers little by little take over the world. Computers control the electric grid, financial information, surveillance, etc. I read that computer hackers can control the world's electric grid, and literally put all countries in the dark and at the mercy of one world leader.
As you hint, computers are way ahead of the people who created them.
Excellent work, Estory.
Best wishes in the contest.

It's the AI at work and aliens are using technology to control us. I learnt this from a Lex Fridman interview of a Stanford biology professor and founder of many companies Garry Nolan, who is also curious about aliens. His idea of God being an alien in disguise may offend you.
Well done.

I'm glad you are not offended. More people are talking about aliens nowadays. Thanks to Joe Rogan.

After you do these things--or they are done for you--you can get in your vehicle and let it take you to town! LOL! Seriously, this is a great poem--full of examples of the wonders of the modern-day world. (misspelling in line 8)

Thanks for the excellent review and your take on the piece. Are they wonders, or are they something more sinister than that? estory

Sometimes I wonder too!

You are right. This is sinister and alarming. These little chips and are learning to think without our input. It might come to the point they decide to take over. They won't need us anymore as long as there are satellites guiding the movements. They don't need food. Maybe they will think we are dispensable.

With our cell phones people know where we are at all times. My three-year- old granddaughter got a toy for Christmas that turns itself on when somebody walks into the room. My son removes the batteries when she's not playing with it. It's too creepy. Yes, they are gathering information on us. Thank you for sharing.

Thanks for the excellent review and your encouraging words of support. When the toys start spying on you, you really have to watch out. estory

Mission accomplished. "I'm trying to make people think of what it is that we are really creating with all this technology." Unfortunately, manay of the words and phrases are fogs for those who choose to remain where they were before 2000 rolled in.
