Good job, Mystery Author, with your contest entry. Your syllable count per line is correct. You have a great message too of helping sick/injured critters.
Best wishes in the contest.
Respectfully, Jan

You have made excellent use of these mere eleven syllables in your timely poem about homelessness, of both humans and animals--as the artwork, to me, implies. SO MANY are without homes.

Actually , the hand would be mine and those that help strays on the street.
I'm always surprised how members come to different conclusions/interpretations.
In my subtitle I give more insight....poor souls is referring to strays ...the English expression "find forever homes" is, I believe, used when speaking of cats and dogs.
Thank you for reviewing my poem.
Keep safe!

I didn't mean to come across as dense! I thought also of homeless people; I probably shouldn't have added that. :-)

Sorry, I didn?t want to offend..
I just didn?t want merit where there was none .. I do give money to homeless on the street but I have never helped them actively .
Find Forever homes? is an expression I heard for the first time when I got my first PC in Dec 2010 and I started reading stuff in English.
My apologies if I sounded aggressive.
Keep safe!

Yes. Turned sideways because I don't know how to do it correctly.
