How did this lovely, loving love-poem of yours slip past me.
I must have been staring at the stars... or whatever.
Congratulations on the ease with which you have expressed your heart and soul.

'Reaching For Each Other' is an exceptionally well-written and deftly descriptive piece. Penned with craft and skill. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review.

Thank you for reading,
I feel love / really romance is what people want to read. If you are blessed, you get to find abiding love.

My possum, you're more than welcome.

This is excellent advice for how to keep a marriage fresh and enjoyable. There must be communication, listening to what the other has to say and sharing each others good times and bad. Congratulations on 25 years.

Thank you,
I feel like a lot is written on romance and magical love.
Love does change - but it gets better. The things that used to matter don?t and thankfulness for someone to always be there.

You are welcome

This poem was very beautiful. It captures both the complexity and the choice that love requires everyday, while also paying tribute to the small moments that make all the sacrifice worth it. I loved the repetition of the style.

I wish I could do love as well as I can write it. I have been thinking about love lately and have found myself writing about it a lot lately.
A lot of stuff I have posted before has been working through emotional problems.
Maybe this is hopefull?

Your lovely, expressive poem conveys a simple (Simple is good!) message about the mutual needs and desires of people in love, especially as the
years pass. Relationships must be nurtured.

Thank you.
I don?t see a whole lot written about love in the senior life stage. Romance and all the feelings of being together are still there.
Comment from Frank Malley
"Reaching for Each Other" is a poem about someone who makes a simple but durable commitment to love. In each pair of couplets, a request to the beloved partner to act lovingly is reciprocated by the poet with her loving act. Her language is direct and unadorned, and reminds me - I'm not sure why - of Rod McKuen. I would say that the last line is unnecessary, kind of a glued-on coda.

I am sort of a direct person. This is what I want in m marriage, but maybe no marriage can be that transparent. Do it write it instead and that helps for some reason.

I think we need to love each other as much as we can.
My husband says he loves me every night before bed. Just in case something happens.
My husband also says I should write Hallmark cards

You did a great job expressing your thoughts and feelings about the bond of marriage you and your husband have. I enjoyed reading your well written poem. The words flow smoothly, there's great imagery, and your message is clear. Love doesn't just go away after many years of marriage. It's there to stay, but, yes, both partners must work on it everyday. Sharing and caring are part of it.
Respectfully, Jan

This is the marriage I want and it is harder than would think as you age. How do create that bond of intimacy. Words become more important. Etc

Such a beautiful poem and a heartfelt sentiment. Your writing makes me feel happy and thankful for my husband of 21 years. Sometimes we forget how much we love each other because the demands of the day tend get in the way. But your poem made me stop and take moment to reflect on what I have.

I have found it much harder as I have gotten older to go back to the source of love. Our adult children have been through a lot and we have been there every step of the way.
Starting to feel some room again and maybe some space for just my husband and I. He is a very loving and generous man.
