Wendy,

This is a sweet and tender, hopeful story. I enjoyed it and thought it was well written. I am glad this poor, guilt-ridden father was able to finally find release and comfort in the arms of our kind adopted Brother, Christ, and in the home of our Father God.

I only made one note as I read - I thought I would still go ahead and share it:

*He never spoke of religion. Or the supernatural. Or the war.
--> 1.) POW! The reader is hit upside the head with the first intriguing nugget which draws them immediately into the story. There's no way I would stop reading now. *smile*

Nice job - Good luck in the voting!

Wendy, a beautiful showing of how the gospel works. There are so many layers of truth in this poem. A very wise and heartfelt post and stunned me. Thanks for this wonderful offering.

A well-written uplifting story. For my taste you belaboured the point of him changing the side he was lying on or maybe your handling of it was a bit off and you should have mentioned his medical condition? (although I understood the allusion easily enough). Kate xx

Oh so beautiful, Wendy. I believe in every word you wrote... there has been chosen a time for all of us and I pray we all are ready. It would be nice if we had prior notice, but of course, we have had our notice, now it is up to us to be ready. This was a great story to wake up to this morning and I thank you for sharing.

Happy Valentine's Day, my friend.

Hugs, Carol

Great work. Well written.
And with two words to spare!
Precisely. Very peacefully. - I've had reviewers point out sentences that lacked verb, or predicate, etc. It's personal expression. Dramatic effect. The complete sentence is understood. I think maybe they were simply trying to get the minimum character count!
Good luck in the contest.
God bless you and best wishes.

Thank you Wayne, for your thoughtful, encouraging and astute review. I agree. One must be free to use dramatic effect as one feels is appropriate to the writing. Thanks too for the good wishes.

The Lord's mysterious ways worked to reveal the Truth to Bob. He was spiritually cleansed, his wartime past forgiven. How reassuring for his faithful daughter to know that when his time had come he went peacefully when Jesus came for him. You have blended a strong spiritual aspect with the supernatural aspect of how Bob's overt rejection of Lindy's faith was changed.

Thanks so much Lisa. Great review, and thank you for the encouragement. There are a few elements of fact with my father's story, and the rest is fiction.

I like and have enjoyed the read of this fiction; faith in Lord is prime, everything changes but on time as our Heavenly Father wishes and justifies; he waited for patiently and at last Jesus came for him at the right time; well said, well done; post more. ALCREATOR LITT DEAR (D R)
