Yes, it was a wonderful thing to see the bridge lit up for the turn in the millennium, a fitting reminder to all to consider Eternity. Each one has a work for the Lord and Arthur Stace did his without acknowledgement at the time, but is now recognized and a household name. Thanks for paying tribute to him.

I remember seeing 'Mr Eternity' in Sydney when I was a young teenager. All I saw then was a vagrant nut-case, but life experience has shown me he was a man on a mission, not aimless at all, with a message of salvation to share. You poem of homage to him is well written with good rhymes. Thanks for sharing this true story. To think he became famous enough that the Sydney Harbour Bridge was lit up on New Year's Eve 1999 with his special word more than 30 years after he died. How fitting to welcome in the turn of the millenium.

He promised god and he became a sober man.
I first saw it at Circular Quay, near the Opera House. What one man can do. Thanks for reading. K xx

It proves however humble our circumstances we can still achieve something in eternity.

So this is a true account. It seems incredible. He was a transient and a drunk, but to maintain his sobriety he wrote a single word in chalk, in the places he travelled. That is was a promise done from God or so he thought is interesting.

Arthur is still a celebrity here. Seeing the Harbour Bridge on New Year's Eve - lit up with Eternity, well, that was amazing. Thanks for reading. K xx

This is such a marvelous tale, this gentleman deserves a poem. It is quite the feat to write "eternity" in chalk so many times. Your poem reads like a mini movie and the character of this man comes through clearly.

What a great story poem for the club, Aussie. Love it! I love that it's a true story. Your words were well thought out and filled with great imagery. I could see everything you wrote as I read. Thanks, too, for the informative notes. Arthur had a great legacy. I like the smooth glow of your words/lines, the rhymes, and the message.
Respectfully, Jan
