Very interesting supernatural, with a twist at the end,
-Sparkling moment in your piece: He spoke the unspoken to someone who knew him better than anyone. A sort of mental telepathy...Knowing someone so well as to finish their sentence, complete a thought. Or not say anything at all. Non verbal is a powerful and emotive form of communication.
Your writing is a wonderful eye into human psyche.
Wonderful writing and well structured.

Thank you for sharing this contest entry with us. You told a complete story using only a few words. I'm impressed. As you know it takes me a lot of words to say anything. Good luck with the contest.

Mel,

Well. Certainly. Obviously, she has every right to sad, first of all, AND mad. How DARE you leave her like that. How RUDE. I guess you were tired of hanging around and just decided to go gallivanting off to another dimension, huh? Just like a man. Only thinking of themselves.

hehe

This was a cute little story with an unexpected ending. In truth, this husband was awfully nice to stay a bit and try to comfort his wife - even though she doesn't even seem to know he's there. That's true love, isn't it?

It's SO good to see you! I hope you are well. AND alive!

Hi Robyn, yup after 60 years of marriage habits die hard. He didn't want to leave his dear wife behind on her own.
It's nice to hear from you again, I trust you are well, as I am. Take care. ~Mel~

The objective correlative of your work reminisces a dead protagonist's unreachable ghost world exchange with Susan, his grieving wife, whom he left behind alive.

The work highlights her sorry state opposite him at the breakfast table; his desperate bid to assuage her woes and how the barrier between them renders them incommunicado.

The work earns its texture through its effective use of anecdotes reminiscent of the gulf of severance between the living and the dead.

Excellent work. Bravo.

This is excellent flash fiction. It is written beautifully and until the last word, we do not know what is going on. This is the way flash fiction should be and it is also supernatural fiction.

Hello :)
I enjoyed reading your supernatural flash fiction story.
It is cleverly written, leading the reader in a certain direction and then diverting them down an unexpected turning at the end.
Nicely done. Good luck in the contest.
Best wishes, Debra
