I think you did a fine job with this prompt, Reese. And in five lines managed to include some of the highlights of a parade.

And bringing your walker just to see all the fuss, is a bit of great fun.

Wishing you much luck with the voters. :))

As the father of three daughters, I have much experience in watching the glow of girls of all ages dressing up and performing. My girls were dancers and gymnasts and so, don't think I'm just a dirty old man! But, so glad writer with a sense of humor like you enjoyed mine! I looked in on your portfolio. Good stuff! Anyway, thanks for stopping by. Best wishes to you Canadians. These are challenging times. Now, where did I put my walker...

Yes I noticed a previous reviewer made the comment about the dirty old man. I haven't seen so many Confederate Flags around Canada before. These are indeed interesting times, and many thanks for the best wishes.

Very nice poem about parades. Of course the dirty old man in you leaked out a little. :-) But, you redeemed your "social score" -- I checked with Xi -- with the final line about Santa. (But what's with the tiny script type? It's very hard to read. You'd be safe letting your words take care of the flair.)

These two poems today limit the lines. So, to get the full message written takes more words per line, thus, smaller print to get it all said. Remember, I am a Texan and our formula for communication is, "Why use one word when twelve will do?" Always a pleasure to hear from you.

One thing about you Texans, you have an excuse for everything. But nobody's explained why you like those long-horned cattle so much. I think they'd be more suited to DC.

2 responses: Two traditions: Longhorns were native to Texas and so some of us worship them. Aggies do not. As stated, the other is just fitting to the prompt's demands. Now, your turn, why does a state which has "Live Free or Die" on its license plates ALWAYS vote Democrat? (Excuse me: "Game, Set, Match!)

We don't always vote DemoRAT. We have a Republican governor, senate and house. We have been invaded by people from MA, NY and CT, and they are mostly trained change agents. We are primed to turn wholly red again. Stay tuned. :-)
