I have no idea which one you used, Mike. They are all very deep, but to me the last one creates a much more emotional response. It's both sad and beautiful. Good luck in the contest, if it hasn't already passed.

Hi, Judy. I used the last one but it didn't make the longlist. Thank you for your kind words!

Have a great day, and God bless.

I enjoyed reading your three stories about light. All are very good, it would be hard to choose a favourite. Light is so important to us, and something we all value in so many areas of our lives.

This group of flash fiction stories, My Light Fades for Freedom, runs out three totally different snippets. Each does seem to involve someone "seeing the light".

Your ultra-concise narratives are well-written and expressive. Story 1: Yes,
getting lost is a harrowing experience. (I presume the gun part is just an exaggeration!) 2. Wonderful story of a boy's curiosity and his conclusion that Jesus is the light. 3. The moving story of a slave who hopes his descendants will be free. I think you entered 3 in the contest.

Beautiful writing and I guess you used 'My light faded for freedom", am I right?
Your writing is clear and honest. I think all of these are relatable to most. Your message in all of these is strong. Different context, same strength.

I think you had a great piece here on the perseverance of faith and how we have to hold firm to it even when it seems things are not working in our favor. We have to believe and stay there. I think you used the last one. But that's just my guess. estory

My Light Fades for Freedom? All of them are great. I like the one about Matthew. This reminds me of my grandson. His middle name is the same.
And a similar incident happened with him. Thank you for posting all three great meaningful poems. Good Luck.

Your three stories fit together well with a common then=me. I enjoyed each one and how you used the light to make a point. I believe the first one was written for a contest. It is intense with great imagery.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan
