I have to say I read this as a contest entry and found it to be so delightful and clever. I have been guilty in the past of getting that shiny card and going on a spending spree. It is such a fun and well-written read.
Best wishes and good luck in the contest.
Mary

Another winner with flawless meter and a well developed, coherent, foreshadowed, hilariously rendered storyline with great visual presentation. Then there are the Easter eggs suggesting that the subject has so material wealth, things spent on are disproportioned and unusable. This gem has all the right ingredients. Well done.

The only edit I suggest is:

It only took a couple days
then it was crystal clear <= change *then* to *til* to avoid the feel of a run-on sentence.

Thanks for the great read!

Hey, D. Thank you for the awesome review and huge sixer, friend. Yeah, I wanted to come up with something that would truly be magical for the contest, lol. Did you happen to catch the name on the card in the pic? I put that on there. Ha. I really appreciate it, friend. I'm glad you liked the piece. Thank you again.

Another sucker. HAHAHAHA!! Too damn funny. LOVED THIS! When my oldest son went out on his own, he asked me to come over and help him with his checkbook. While we were going through it, I will never forget the extremely bright lightbulb that exploded over his head. He just realized you can't spend money that you don't have even if you can write a check for something. This entry reminds me of that. Your meter and rhymes are spot on and you have told a great little story about stupid people with credit cards. Loved the 80-inch TV and Xbox. Totally a boy thing. The lobster treats for the cat were funny too. This is a great write that I enjoyed very much. Well done!!! Lynda

Yeah, my cat loved those lobster treats. LOL. Thank you so much for the awesome review and big six, Lynda. Out of the few reviews I received, you're the only one that caught the name on the card. I put that in there myself. Well, I'm glad this brought back some good memories. I'm glad you liked this silly piece. Thank you again.

Your poem is so well done and tells a story that often happens when a person gets a credit card and does not use it wisely. I love your closing line: I'll not forget such loss and pain...the day the magic died."

this is one of the most cleverly written and funny poems I've read in a long long time. The rhyming is impeccable and the delivery of each verse just gets better and better and I love the play on words "to Amazon im Prime" haha, it's simply amazing written and delivered. I laughed my way through and was in awe of its perfection! absolutely brilliant.
