Excellent write Melissa
Quite rightly you use the second line as a title. For it is the heart of your poem. You could have chosen many other emotions to fill the heart - love, life, dreams, grief, pain, fear , and the list goes on. But you chose " hope" the generic desire for betterment that keeps us going against all odds.
Beautifully written.

That's so true, Melissa, if we really put our heart into something, there's the hope that we will actually achieve it. It's a very well written 2-4-2 poem for the contest. It's always difficult to say something meaningful in so few words, but you managed just that. Good luck. Ulla:)))

I hope you're right, my friend! I have a yearning heart and yet I seem to get nowhere fast and live a life of loneliness and grief. Usually, I am positive and hopeful yet tonight I am not so sure of myself. I love the picture of the hands holding a candle that is lit and it glows in the dark. Let us keep up the hope!
