WOW!!!!! Wendy I loved this. The ending really caught me off guard. I had a feeling that it was an angel of some kind, or Jesus or something, but not a dog.
This was well-written, so much that I was at the edge of my seat waiting to get to the end. I am so glad that baby girl was safe.

It was a good story and I don't know of anything that should have been written differently.

A wonderful story. Of corse I imagined the worst at all the places I was supposed to (as well as just death alone in the wild), even though there was not a single vulgar word, sexual term or profanity, the horrors forced their way in. Only to be pushed out by something kinder, but more difficult to understand. Well done.

Thank you so much Tom for your wonderful review, and also for the honour of six stars, which I value greatly as well as your encouragement. I am so glad you enjoyed it, or were moved to tears by it. Thank you for the suggestion, and you are right, so I have removed the unnecessary word.
In answer to the Promote button. If you had eighteen pumps to use, it should just have gone down to seventeen and no charge if you used one. The pumps give a money value to one's work for reviewing purposes, which means that people who are paid well eg 82 cents for their comments will more likely review than if they only get 32 cents. The higher the number of reviews you get the higher becomes your ranking (seen under "Status" under the "MY" button. Some people promote their work to an extraordinary degree to get lots of reviews, so they will get a good ranking - but their work my be only mediocre. It's a bit manipulative really, so the rankings don't always reflect the best writers (in my opinion). Hope this helps.
But in terms of what happened to you, contact Tom who manages the site, under the COMMUNITY button and then at the bottom "Contact us". He may be able to explain what happened and why, and maybe adjust your payment for you. Best wishes , Tom, and thank you again.

No adjustment needed. Perhaps I did it wrong for I believe a pump is to be used before posting not after for the one I used did not go to the one I just had entered so I think I stuck it on a previous one. I'll try it again, if and when I see the "pump" button again. I don't always notice it. Thank you.

Ah yes, that could be it. You might have inadvertently promoted another piece of writing of yours. It does take a bit of getting used to.
