"Kaleidoscope goals"--what a wonderfully creative and moving choice of words! Your descriptions of practical goals and wishful thoughts are vivid and relatable. I hope you get that healing and those travels.

It's goals that keep us striving and moving forward. And when we reach the early goals, it's time to set new ones, just out of reach. And just because we may not fully obtain what we set out to achieve, there are all the other things we might have stumbled across along the way to celebrate. Thanks for sharing.

I really like this poem. There are some great lines in this reflective piece. I read it more than once to fully appreciate the content.

To find a home among trees that breathe (I so get this)
To find a faith where I can believe (many so need this)
To find a caregiver who never wants to leave (this can relate to everyone. A carer of partnership and love. A carer of physical and mental needs. It is all so relevant.)

I want to live not always dying (we all head towards death every second.)

Loved the depth of this poem. If I may offer a suggestion in the final couplet:

To achieve my goals to energize my soul
These are my kaleidoscope goals.

You have already used the word - goal. Perhaps consider something like:

To polish my aim to energize my soul
These are my kaleidoscope goals.

Thank you for sharing this honest and humble poem.

Thank you, DD, for your honest and encouraging review. I followed your suggestion and changed the final couplet to read what you wrote. I hope you don't mind that I loved your choice of phrases so much that I used it exactly the way you wrote it.
    I appreciate your kind comments.
    Have a wonderful Sunday!

The changing (adding, changing, reassessing) of goals helps one keep on top of what his/her needs/wants are and how to best go about achieving them. It may take some time, but the idea is to keep forging ahead--new goals will surface as others are met. Best wishes for your personal care goals.
Respectfully, Jan

Oh, I'm absolutely not a quitter, I've always been a fighter...the only situations I give up on, are those that just aren't worth my time. I enjoy life too much, even when it sucks, ha ha.

Yes, I have always known that about you, my friend! As you say, some things just aren't worth our time!

    Wonderful, Jesse!
How did your knee appointment go for you?

Wishing you a beautiful new week!

David and I got so terribly lost that I canceled the appointment because we couldn't find our way around SF at all!
I decided that I never wanted to go back there again so what was the point of going to the appointment!
I called my local knee surgeon and he is going to call me back and refer me to somewhere closer.
    Take care, my friend!

The author's words are meaningful, clear and creative. I like the title of
this poem. What a great word to use for his goals. I found this poem conveys a strong sense of determination in achieving the goals
stated. The poem flows and connects well. The artwork is awesome!

Very nice poem Mr. Jesse.
Yes, my goals have changed so much over there years.
Never actually make it to any of them.
Something is always happening.

I think your poem reflects this well.
Thanks for sharing with us.

So it was a "misadventure"? I think we all have those kaleidoscope goals because we have immortal souls and God put eternity in our hearts so we "want to live not always dying."
But I do hope you will be supplied with the goals to walk again and have a good caregivers always!
