I enjoyed your poem. It had a great rhyme scheme. It had a great flow. I found the words creative. What I didn't find were the three words required for the contest. But that just may be my eyesight. Best wishes in the contest.

This is a very sorrowful story-like poem. Who could do damage to someone else's pet? It is a very cruel thing to do. Did they ever find the culprit? Hopefully they put the person in jail and threw away the key.

This is a really sad story you've managed to creatively put into poetry. I'm so sorry it's a true story. How could a person harm an innocent animal? Cleo was one of God's precious creatures. Whoever took her life was surly not pleasing God. Whoa be unto them. Plus, animal cruelty is against the law. Great poem. Best wishes in the contest.

Your story actually upset me.
Some people are just wicked. I don't see what satisfaction they find in hanging these trophies on the wall .. it's just gruesome
But in this case I believe there was a feud ... poor Cleo.
I hope he got a fine .. he deserves jail time in my books.

A very well written, thoughtful and compassionate poem, and it seems so senseless to kill an animal for pleasure, or just from sheer cruelty and evil. Very moving. Best wishes for your entry.

What a sad story and to find out it is a true story is very upsetting. You wonder what goes to someone's mind to do something this evil. Knowing that the goat was a family pet and this person killed it for no useful reason is disgraceful. Good luck with the contest.

You are correct, this is a sad tale. In a number of ways, a family lost their beloved pet and the person who did this is equally sad, in a different way. The poem flowed very well. The rhyming helped the flow. The picture fit the poem. You have met the requirements for the contest.

What a horrible thing to happen. Can you imagine the distress in that family? especially the children of course. We have much more serious news to contend with, but such personal traumas deserve pause for thought.
