Wise thoughts. What could be shot by a bullet can be panned by a shutter and glorified without making a hole in the wall imitating how brave they could be without leaving the tree.

    I don?t think killing should ever be considered a sport.

    And putting on show their trophies is deplorable.

    Life in the savannah is already tough without having some trigger happy tourist shooting at them .. not even fair play

    At least the Maasai warriors, as a coming of age test, hunted lions with a spear and used their cunningness.

My contest poem is along similar lines to yours, where an animal was killed for a trophy. I share your outrage at such blood 'sport' - you have written well about the shameful practice in Africa where money can buy suffering and death for the innocent animals.

    Those running these Safari hunting reserves say that a certain amount of animals must be killed due to space availability, so why not let people have their fun and they earn money to take care of the reserve.

    I?m am still against it because people should not have the possibility to kill for entertainment.. it?s morally wrong.

    Full stop.

This is a male occupation as the instinct to kill seems to be inherent in humans as hunters. Now that we are civilised, there is no need to hunt and it is a pity that is on the rise. I now they still hunt dear in America too, love Dolly x

    Yes in America they hunt a lot .. they also are armed to the teeth .. lots act as if they were still living in the far west ..

    I got a glimpse of the arsenal some folks have when people were protesting after the death of Floyd .. crazy ..

    Hunting is disgusting.. and I hate to say I read that more women are becoming fans of this cruel practice in Africa.

    Then of course you have kids / daughters that grow up with parents that hunt .. they transmit the passion for the kill ..

    like trekkies pass their passion for Star Trek to their kids.
