I love the stream of consciousness approach, similar to Jack London's short story To Build a Fire. Also, the long sentences remind me of Steinbeck's Cannery Row. Your alliteration gives the reader cause to pause. There's much more I could say, but this is enough for now.

I thought this was very creative and imaginative. It's a really great fragmented construction that illustrates all the myriad viewpoints we have of life, even from one perspective. In a crowd you get many perspectives. you had some wonderful colorful imagery in which we could see ourselves as part of the crowd, both as an individual and as part of a whole. And I liked the rhythm of the language. It was a super post. estory

Beautifully said! As an introvert, I don't like crowds but you made your refrain "In a crowd" so very appealing. You show us we can fellowship with others and keep our unique identity. My favorite stanza was:
"In a crowd, the portrait of your mind can be painted with delicate brush strokes, sharing the colors that live within each emotional thought, creating the rainbow of eternity."

You've touched on a number of truths, in this poem, Mike. I've never thought about crowds like that before, but now it's all clear. We are so much influenced by people we may not really know, especially here. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

I like your poem commenting on all the ways we can react in a crowd. I think that most of us are missing the chance to be with other people, communication that we all need.

This was a beautiful read. Sometimes we feel like a mask is necessary in front of friends, family and strangers. It's up to us to remove the mask when we feel comfortable. Many blessings to you.

Lovely thoughts so well expressed. I think it can go either way, according to circumstances. I've never been one for crowds, but when I'm in one, I usually bond with one person, not the group as a whole. I suppose one feels safer with others like themselves, but I'm pretty much a loner.
I particularly like this: "In a crowd, there's a person who can share my existence through the barrier of self to form a single living organism dedicated to the other until time no longer matters."

I seldom ever have a six left by Tuesday of the week, but I've saved this one for a change in case something special would come along. And I'm glad I did. Outstanding, the poem and picture combined! Thanks for sharing.

Hi, Ric. Thank you for your kind words and those shiny six stars. They are deeply appreciated! We've been getting ready for today's ice storm. Thankfully, we don't have to go anywhere.
Have a great day, and God bless.

Morning, Mike! You are most welcome and deserving. I enjoy and could give you sixes on everything you write. Unfortunately, they just don't give us enough to go around. I'm glad you don't have to get out in this mess today. Ice has already started breaking up the trees, downing powerlines, and I busted my butt salting the porch this morning. So, like you, I'm staying where it's warm, if we still have heat. LOL. God bless! Ric
