Fall sightings of ladybugs are a sign of winter's appearance. They come out in the spring and bask in the warmth of the sun all summer long. As the temperatures begin to cool, ladybugs are found inside the warmest, sun-filled rooms of your home.

Small and insignificant and yet he continues gallantly on, despite the enormity of his task and the difficulties of making effective progress. Good metaphor for life. Best wishes for your entry.

Hi there,
another goal orientated piece here. Maybe this form lends itself to these type of things... I don't know. lol
Fits the bill as far as the competition goes.
Mind you, it's easy for the pictured bug, it could just fly off. lol

I loved your use of the tiny bug's perspective! It made your writing prompt entry stand out from some of the poems I've read this week. Thanks for sharing.

Good entry for the 5-7-5 writing prompt contest. Good syllables count and connection between lines. Nice presentation and imagery. The picture is a ladybug, not a Beatle.
Good luck in the contest.

I appreciate you taking the time to review. Yes, you are right it isn't a 'Beatle' at all - it would have to be John, Paul, George, or Ringo to be a Beatle.
This is from the Internet:
Today, the terms ladybug and lady beetle are both commonly used, although lady beetle is more scientifically accurate. That's because in reality, ladybugs aren't bugs at all; they are beetles. Basically, all ladybugs are actually lady beetles, because they aren't bugs at all.

Was the verse written to describe the photo, or was the photo selected to enhance the verse? Either way, it's a tidy little verse about not being afraid to move forward, I think. Cute and enjoyable.

Thanks for your review.
I wrote the verse then spent ten times as long looking for a suitable accompanying photo.

Hello :)
I enjoyed reading your 5-7-5 poem.
I love the determination of the little beetle plodding onward towards his destination. Nothing is going to stop him.
I like the grass stems being likened to a forest - they really must look as imposing as a forest from his perspective. Nice alliteration in line 3.
Good luck in the contest.
Best wishes, Debra

Spot on (no pun intended) for syllable count the ladybug is on the look out for black fly which she eats with relish, and wages a constant war on the ants who farm them

Your choice of words (plods/daunting/forest/set) to convey focus and determination to achieve is quite commendable. A traditional haiku, this poem renders a vivid image.
