This is a very funny commentary on government, street signs, and God. I hope desperately that you do stop at stop signs. The consequence of not doing so could definitely lead to a dead end. This is very creative and fun to read. Thanks.

You're welcome. I truly like the way the story bounces back and forth between God and man.

Hi there,

Well, I'm not sure this is weirdly inspired moment of calculate genius or the first signs of a stroke... only time will tell.

but it was entertaining.
Best of luck in the booth.

It's very clever of you to see the spiritual messages in road signs and point them out so entertainingly to us. In my country (NZ) we drive on the left hand side of the road, and I voted for the current government, so I am very happy to "keep left"... or maybe that means: "keep what's left after the pandemic ruins us all - solace in the kingdom of heaven."

Correction:
when subliminal messages where (were) common

The character must yell "Stop!" He or she cannot yell, "Don't stop!" Maybe you still have time to fix this. It should not be too hard. Good luck in the contest.

Well done mystery author. I was going to enter this contest, but honestly, I don't see any reason to after I read your entry. It was both funny and sincere, and the message is really needed. So often I think we try to evangelize people with scare tactics or judgemental attitudes. God has given us a sense of humor; how appropriate to use it this way. Good luck in the contest.
Have a blessed evening.

Thank you for your wonderful review. I wasn't sure this wasn't a bit too over the top to be accepted. You lift my spirits.

Comedic beginning that draws the reader into your aggrevation with street signs.

One of the cleverest means of preaching the Gospel follows in a way very few would conceive the "subliminal" messages of street signs to be.

This one is a keeper.

What a delightful entry for the contest! It's both humorous and very serious. I don't think it's the government and politicians or bureaucrats sending the messages, I think it's God outsmarting THEM. :-) I'll never look at a road sign the same way again.

Your God-inspired subliminal suggestions to accept Jesus is exactly what this nation ==> suggestions . . . are

Congratulations for a well written specification compliant Stop writing prompt and thanks for sharing it with us.

I am especially enthused at the way you brought humour to bear on your work through your parody on traffic signs.

Excellent work. Bravo.
