Hi Melissa,
I enjoyed this 5-7-5 poem, "Within the Magic". It makes me think of a scene in the 1993 fantasy/comedy movie, "Groundhog Day", starring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell. Bill Murray (as Phil Connors) is just finishing an ice sculpture of beautiful Andie MacDowell's (as Rita) face. It's magical as Phil turns the masterpiece around for Rita to see. She can't believe it. Some people fault the movie for being repetitive, but it's really magical. You see, Phil has all the time he needs to become quite proficient in many things... as a pianist, for example, and as a sculptor. He also could change a flat tire like a Nascar pro.
Nice alliteration in "worlds of wonder". Snow is terrible to shovel, especially for an old man like me. But it's magical to watch it falling like itsy bitsy bright stars.
Nicely penned!
Hugs,
Kimbob

The author's words are lovely, joyful, and creative. I found this poem
made me think of how beautiful the snow can be. The poem flows and
connects well. I had to look up the word "pirouetting"! I found it to
go so well with these words. The artwork is awesome.

You have made excellent use of your syllables in this lovely, vividly descriptive piece about the beauty of a winter snowfall. (Howmanysyllables.com says line 2 has eight syllables.)

Yes Melissa, the joy of children, as they taste those snowflakes, is magnified by your verse.

Pirouetting is a great word to describe your scene.

Loved the "gently pirouetting snow!" Yes, those snowflakes falling really brings up a sense of magic and of wonder - not just to little kids but adults as well. Best wishes in the contest and congrats in the other one!!

Just beautiful in expression and captured magic of a child and their world of precious wonder. A great 5-7-5 - love the snow, teddy and child.
If only life stayed so simple...

What an adorable photograph. Sticking out one's tongue to capture snowflakes is quite a delightful or magical childhood moment.

Enjoyed this one very much, Melissa. :))

You didn't enter this 5-7-5 poem in any contest, Melissa? Why? It's very good. I love the picture of that young lady and the playfulness of eating snow. :) Where do you come up with the ideas? Thank you, Melissa, for sharing a very good 5-7-5. Take care.
