I like the chapter. I could feel the emotion and tension in your words. As usual, I didn't see a single mistake. You did an excellent job. Have a great evening. Shirley

Thank you for the kind review.

This is an interesting chapter giving us some insight into horseback riding, Barbara. I used to go riding sometimes when I was a teenager, but I certainly wouldn't have gone off on my own, like Alexandra. She seems a little sensitive.
A few suggestions: "Chuckling Cordero continued, "They could care less." - this is another of my pet peeves. We hear this all the time "could care less" when in reality it is couldn't care less. If they could care less it would mean they do care. lol
"All of us tend (to) overlook his many faults. Are you sure you're up for it."
"He places(d) hers on her head, before he..." - a switch in tense here
"Does another one of you(r) animals need a lawyer?" -I assume you're talking about the actual animals and not the men? lol

Quiet Lawyer Chapter 3a
Barb.
I looks like you know how to ride and give commands with the use of of reins. I like how you are describing the beauty of the ranch. And I see you like have trained show dogs part of your story.
Yes, I like the dialog

Thank you.

I've been riding most of my life and owned several horses. So I obviously read this with interest. Now, I rode dressage, in an English saddle and I will have to say that all the commands, are done with seat and legs, rather than the bridle. Then again I don't know much about Western riding which is less subtle. An interesting chapter and well written. Ulla:)))

Thank you for the kind review. This is how I rode, but...It's been years. My aunt and uncle owned a ranch in Oklahoma. My uncle rode bulls in rodeos and is the Rodeo Hall of Fame. I hope he taught me correctly.

Alexandra is learning to ride, and, at one stage, takes off when Cordero is called on his phone, and becomes distracted, he is a little angry with Alex, and fears for for her safety with a big horse like Dolly. Someone is stealing the ranches' prize bulls, but he doesn't know how. Beautifully written Barbara, well done, blessings Roy
Typo : Dad rode to the (sight) site? 2: One of the ranch (foreman's) foremen?

I have corrected both of those. I can't believe I did that. When I read your review I said to myself, "I didn't do that." I sure did. DUH!!! Thank you.

I'm sorry, Barb; I'm just not up to 'talking' -- I can read, but socializing (reviewing) is beyond me right now.

It's okay

I tried to learn to ride a horse a long time ago, and failed miserably. It seems to me that Alexandra might have some history with an abusive partner, I hope he comes to the ranch and gets sorted out. :))
So now we know that they have problems with cattle rustlers, I wouldn't like to be the person who is doing it if he/ they get caught. This is going well, Barbara, I enjoyed it very much. Well done. :)) Sandra xxx

This was an in depth riding lesson. I didn't know it was so complicated. Maybe that is why the last horse I got on ran away with me. I didn't get any instructions before I tried riding. I guess our first mystery has to do with cattle rustlers. I'm enjoying the story.

The title is becoming clearer as I continue to read. There is one sentence that doesn't flow as smoothly as the rest. It is in the section that starts with, "
see you later mom."
"Cordero grabbed his hat and placed Alexandra's on her head
place (ed) his hand in ( on) the small of her back.
Otherwise, the flow was smooth and I want to keep reading.
