The title gives the clue to the identity of the 'you' in this free verse poem. You is home and all that means. I first read this late last night and struggled with it believing I was looking for a person. This morning I realise there isn't one except perhaps within the context of all that home means.

The brain has to be fully alert to capture your meanings.

Powerful psalm! I think you might want to change the category to Spiritual. My favorite lines were:
"Thank you for the clang and clash of prayers
as the battle is joined in heavenly realms."
It's really in prayer that we have the spiritual battles happening even though sometimes we can't see or know the results in this life.

I do understand the abrasions on the knees of your devotion.
You wring your fingers and you write your lines:
"You are stronger than a twined rope,
with strands of striving and stillness."
What beautiful contrast between striving and stillness is the twined rope.
The hero's quest: "Test me, my Lord!" Like Jacob, you await the Angel Phanuel for your nightly match. It will never be enough. Have you listened to Leonard Cohen's "Goin' Home"?

Thanks, Jay. I have made contact with the person you suggested, and we have fanned each other.

Yes, again. The humility of your adoration is symphonic. Your second stanza sings (interesting that it poses a question, yet needs no "?" to be inserted.... you are a poet!). Thank you, again, for sharing this one.

This is a great spiritual poem telling of your journey in God's shadow. I think the words that appealed to me most are:
The sun's light turns to darkness
when I stare into Your glory.
they show so clearly how God is much more powerful than anything else in the universe.

This is a beautiful spiritual poem or prayer. I know what you are feeling.
We have that desire for a greater relationship with God because His presence feels like home. We praise His majesty and glory, but we are still entrapped in humanity. We want that walk with God, but our human side also desires the praise of man. We want to do great things on our own. Still we praise God for the knowledge that in our valleys and deserts, he is with us and even when we don't feel his presence, our doubts are quieted by the voice that lets us know, we are accepted just as we are.

This is a lovely poem of faith and how it sustains the narrator through life and adversity. I thought the metaphors for heavenly strength were excellently weaved throughout the write. Good original take on a relationship with the Divine.

Traveling "first class" with God means giving up our desires and instead living our life for Him and serving others. It also means being a minister and missionary for Him wherever we go.
