This poem really has a great message as to how we, weary of problems of life and all the things we are told we must do, can be encouraged (lifted to the light) by the innocence and love of a little child. I really enjoyed this poem.

I'm just trying to do what Simon says.
Thank you so much for reading and commenting, and, of course, for the stars!

Oh my! This is full of emotion - the adult emotions of loss, grief, hopelessness, confusion etc... side-by-side a child's innocence of such things and how this can bring the adult back to the real world by way of a fragile and loving touch.... all set in seaside imagery and symbolism.

Simon's innocent, silent gesture, reaching up to take my hand as we walked along, was completely unexpected. That wave of childhood innocence, living in the now, immediately washed away all my "adult emotions" and cast me into his moment.
I'm so grateful for your comment and rating. Thank you.
