Thank you, dear friend, for your lovely review on this playful, short one. :). It is fun to try to think outside the box... gurgling streams came to mind. I really appreciate your views on it. Hugs, Sally!

You have made delightful use of your seventeen syllables in this vividly descriptive piece depicting the elements of nature getting together for a fun-fest. Effective personification

I love the use of words like fingers tickle and gurgles of laughter...they make this playful romp in the snow seem even more fun. This is very clever and you fit all of this fun into a 5-7-5 poem. An excellent idea if I ever heard of one.
Thanks for this wondrous start to my day!
Have a wonderful week,
Jesse

I like this a lot - my kind of writing. The first line sets the scene of the playful sun doing what it does best, melting hearts and tickling melting streams. With the last - aha -line of gurgles of laughter, well this appeals as it simply plays on the words and brings out the essence of a running stream. Very well done and worthy of a six shower :-)

Perceptive and delightful 5/7/5, Melissa!
Reminded me of our many visits to the mountains of Colorado and California during the spring run-off! "Laughter" for certain!

Thank you for sharing!
Best Wishes!

For my money I would call this a haiku. It has all the ingredients and the satori is lovely and unexpected. The only thing that from a traditionalist point of view that might disbar it is its personification.

I wondered about that personification, but saw the contest was a 5-7-5, so... there I went. Can't wait for our Meter class in six weeks. Hugs, Jim!

First I have to have my much delayed Californian vacation. 2nd Feb to 1st March. It looks as though I really might get away this time.

I get that the sun caresses and warms the streams in winter, and so then the water moves faster, and the rushing gives it a voice, but I would like to see you dig deeper and give more for the contest.

Fine use of personification to bring to life this mountain scene. It does indeed give the aura of tickling, and softens the breathtaking mountains.

Wishing you great luck with the Contest Committee. :))

Melissa,

I do like your little tickle and your giggles/gurgles!

Good imagery throughout your 5-7-5 contest entry. Your photo complements all.
